About the Role
The Account Manager will establish Alcatraz Cruises as the iconic San Francisco experience. This role requires thriving in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative, identifying new business opportunities, and exceeding sales goals. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset are essential.
Responsibilities
- Develops a comprehensive knowledge of client and market needs through regular client visits and appointments.
- Generates leads using high closing rate techniques, client appointments, and networking.
- Identifies and converts prospects to clients using proven sales processes.
- Attends networking and industry events to learn about the market.
- Identifies customer needs and prepares proposals using in-depth product knowledge.
- Presents proposals in-person during site inspections and meetings.
- Handles objections and solves customer problems through active listening and consulting with sales leadership.
- Establishes relationships with associations and business organizations for referrals.
- Plans weekly schedules focusing on closing revenue and executing out-of-office sales activities.
- Uses Salesforce (CRM) to plan, manage, and track sales activities.
- Uses Anchor (reservation software) to book orders and create proposals.
- Maintains personal organization, manages time effectively, and sets work priorities.
- Collects payments and maintains accounts receivable within ageing guidelines.
- Ensures prompt responses to client inquiries, aiming for quotes within 24 hours.
- Communicates complete and accurate product details to the operations team for proper execution.
- Follows up with customers post-cruise to develop accounts, thank clients, request surveys, and obtain referrals.
- Works with Operational leaders to resolve customer issues, prioritizing high-priority issues in-person.
- Attends applicable meetings as designated or necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned by operations leaders.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years total sales experience, including at least 1 year of outbound telephone sales experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft office products and CRM software.
- Analytical skills required to identify and exploit selling opportunities and large-scale partnerships.
- Proposal writing is required; must communicate effectively in written form.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Must have the ability to persuade and influence people.
- Must have proven leadership skills.
- Must be able to listen effectively, assess situations, determine relevant issues, identify solutions, and gain consensus.
- Consideration for employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance.
