About the Role

This role involves assisting the Managing Director in supporting business growth by developing the finance function, improving management information reporting, and overseeing various accounting tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the finance function and improve management information reporting.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable using AI character recognition technology.
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate posting and management of expense creditors/accounts payable.
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and generate sales invoices.
  • Perform credit control by following up on overdue sales invoices.
  • Manage petty cash and staff expenses.
  • Assist with general accounting tasks and month-end reporting.
  • Investigate budget vs. actual variances.
  • Support the Finance team with ad hoc cost & revenue analysis projects.

Requirements

  • AAT Level 3 or 4 qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic individual with good technical accounting skills.
  • Experience with accounting software (preferably Xero).
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical confidence.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Capable of working independently and under pressure.
  • Tech-savvy, ideally with experience in credit control tasks.
  • Strong people skills and ability to build effective relationships quickly.
