Responsibilities

  • Play a critical leadership role in expanding and elevating our Capital Markets practice.
  • Own the vision for the future of Capital Markets, spearheading business development initiatives such as thought leadership creation, high-impact client proposals, and strategic go-to-market campaigns.
  • Cultivate and expand a robust network across the Capital Markets sector, generating significant new business opportunities, and delivering innovative, client-centric solutions to complex challenges.
  • Lead multiple workstreams and large-scale projects, ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets.
  • Build and sustain trusted relationships with C-suite and senior client stakeholders, providing strategic insights and connecting them to EY’s comprehensive service offerings.
  • Inspire, mentor, and develop diverse teams, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning, while embedding deep Capital Markets expertise and awareness of emerging trends such as digital assets and regulatory technology.
  • Champion a professional environment that differentiates EY from competitors, supports the growth of future leaders, and strengthens EY’s position as a market leader in Capital Markets advisory.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the Capital Markets industry, ideally gained through a top-tier consultancy, specialist financial services consultancy, or within a leading bank or market infrastructure provider.
  • Demonstrated expertise in front-to-back Capital Markets operations and their evolving relationship with technology, such as automation and AI-driven processes, digital assets and regulatory technology (RegTech), reflecting the major trends shaping the industry in Capital Markets transformation.
  • Proven experience managing and leading complex, multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale projects with strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced executive communication and presentation skills, with experience engaging C-suite and senior stakeholders.
  • Tech-savviness and a strong willingness to learn, adopt, and apply relevant tools and software to enhance client service and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional leadership, teamwork, and client service skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in advisory roles within financial services.
  • Availability and flexibility to travel extensively within and outside of Canada and to work beyond standard hours when necessary.
  • A self-starting attitude, an ability to think outside the box and thrive on new challenges.

Skills

  • Exceptional analytical and strategic problem-solving skills with deep expertise in Capital Markets trade flows (front, middle, back office), risk management, digital assets, data, technology, regulatory compliance, market infrastructure, and Capital Markets products.
  • Proven track record of proactively identifying and capitalizing on client opportunities through insightful questioning and innovative thinking.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and executive-level storytelling skills to articulate complex concepts and strategic assessments clearly and persuasively.
  • Visionary and innovative leader who thrives on driving change, embracing emerging technologies, and challenging the status quo.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently on short notice to meet client and business needs globally.
  • Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing high-performing, diverse teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes and foster talent growth.
  • Strong relationship builder with a broad network within the Capital Markets industry, EY’s global community, and key external external stakeholders.
  • Intellectual curiosity and up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, including digital assets, RegTech, risk and compliance innovations, and large-scale transformation methodologies.
