About the Role
This is a new position for a Junior Environmental Planner to join our Environmental Planning team, which specializes in managing comprehensive environmental approvals from planning through construction using innovative engagement tools and regulatory knowledge to streamline project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Support projects for public and private sector clients related to EA, environmental permitting and approvals, and environmental compliance monitoring, with a focus on linear infrastructure EAs.
- Support federal EAs and work with Indigenous communities.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams on projects focused on removing barriers and improving access on roads, highways, transit, and active transportation facilities.
- Support innovative EA consultation processes.
- Commit to self-development, ongoing learning, and professional development.
- Be coached and mentored by leaders in various EA types.
- Experiment with AI-enabled tools to push the boundaries of traditional design.
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
- Actively engage with Health & Safety processes and platform, and identify and report health and safety hazards.
Requirements
- A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology or a related field.
- 1-3 years’ EA experience, preferably in the consulting industry, with an emphasis on linear infrastructure.
- Strong communication, report writing, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Class G Driver’s License.
- Knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirements.
- Highly motivated with a proven ability to take initiative.
