About the Role

Alt is unlocking the value of alternative assets, starting with the $5B trading-card market. We let collectors buy, sell, vault, and finance their cards in one place. Our next frontier is real-time pricing at scale—the Alt Value that powers every trade, loan, and product on the platform. This role owns the Vault from arrival to exit, including ingest SLAs, intake and routing, exception handling and QC, outtake, international shipping, customs, insurance, carrier integrations, and the tooling that runs all of it. You will report directly to the CEO and own the Time-to-Liquidity metric.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end lifecycle, in code: receiving and ingest, processing and routing, exception handling and QC, outtake and customer handoff.
Define measurable SLAs at every stage, instrument them, enforce them, and hunt bottlenecks systematically.
Build the Vault tooling, including queue management, prioritization, labeling, SLA tracking, and exception handling software.
Manage international shipping and logistics, including customs, insurance, labeling, and carrier integrations.
Drive inventory activation and liquidity, shrinking the distance between 'in vault' and 'live on marketplace'.
Ensure quality, reliability, and trust by managing error rates, rework, and the exception taxonomy.
Make strategic bets and trade-offs, defining a short quarterly plan tied to key metrics and communicating trade-offs to the CEO.

Requirements

You ship production code and own the consequences.
You have owned an operational system with real SLAs and unit costs and moved the numbers on it.
You own a number today and can name it, its baseline, and where you took it, on the first ask.
You have a track record of turning messy, real-world processes into software that operators use.
You have physical curiosity and are willing to travel to the vault occasionally.
You have built real things with AI, not just used it.
You are scrappy and high-ownership, communicate with precision, move without hand-holding, and proactively find bottlenecks.
Backgrounds that fit include engineers from fulfillment, logistics, or supply-chain platforms; full-stack engineers who moved toward the operational side; forward-deployed and internal-tools engineers; technical founders in warehouse or 3PL software; product people who never stopped shipping code.
