About the Role

Lone Star Paving is seeking a Haul Truck Driver to transport equipment to and from job locations, working closely with the Operations Manager to determine the prime schedule. The ideal candidate is familiar with paving operations in heavy highways and prioritizes safety.

Responsibilities

  • Transport equipment to various job locations.
  • Check vehicles for proper mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance, record keeping, and inspections on vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, tire/light checks, and fluid checks.
  • Perform and log pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Complete trip tickets and other required paperwork.
  • Utilize phone and apps to track start/end times and travel.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness to company standards.

Requirements

  • CDL (Texas Class A Driver's License) with a clean record is required.
  • Must meet DOT employment requirements.
  • Must be organized with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Must be positive, friendly, and professional.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the company's safety policy.
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Promote a team approach and maintain dialogue with all employees.
  • Collaborate with project teams on special initiatives as required.
  • Comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times.

Skills

  • Familiarity with Texas area and roadways
  • Understanding of the complexities of the asphalt industry
  • Knowledge of how vehicles operate
  • Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment is preferred
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations is a plus
