About the Role
Seeking qualified, responsible, self-sufficient, and energetic Structures Designer/EIT-1s for our Phoenix, AZ office. The ideal candidate will be motivated to develop their knowledge and skills to assist with office growth and success. We offer a friendly, professional atmosphere with excellent benefits and a salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior design personnel in developing and completing designs and contract documents for transportation and rail and transit structures.
- Assist in the preparation and checking of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, and project plans.
- Perform field assessment and inspection of structures and facilities.
- Travel periodically within Arizona and neighboring states.
- Be physically capable of performing fieldwork.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) or a related field.
- Hold an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum entry-level experience.
- Bridge/transportation and civil structures experience including preliminary and final designs, quantity and cost estimates, and plan preparation.
- Experience using bridge and structure design and analysis software, including spreadsheet and finite element programs.
- Familiarity with structure design codes and guidelines.
- Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Open Roads Designer and Open Bridge Modeler is desired.
- Project Wise experience is a plus.
- InRoads, RISA, and Civil 3D experience is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
- Solid skills in planning and scheduling, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier.
