About the Role
The Product Manager serves as the operational backbone for the Strategic Services department, translating strategic priorities into well-defined, sequenced work. This role owns the product backlog, keeps stakeholders informed, ensures initiatives are clearly scoped and delivered on time, and supports alignment around key business metrics and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Translate strategic priorities into clearly defined, sequenced work items.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather input, clarify needs, and prioritize features.
- Maintain and manage the product backlog, ensuring it reflects current priorities.
- Support solution evaluations by gathering requirements and coordinating input.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure product requirements are well-defined and feasible.
- Act as the primary point of contact for in-progress work, providing updates and managing expectations.
- Use data insights, stakeholder feedback, and team input to inform product decisions.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of product management processes.
- Support efforts by defining, documenting, and aligning on key business metrics and performance measures.
Requirements
- Knowledge of customer and software support platforms, such as Zendesk, and experience supporting iterative delivery.
- Knowledge of AI conversational coding development.
- Knowledge of multifamily real estate operations (conventional, student, or affordable housing) is a plus.
- Skilled in managing product backlogs and translating strategic priorities into actionable work.
- Skilled in using data to inform decisions, identify trends, and validate product outcomes.
- Skilled in verbal and written communication, with the ability to clearly convey technical and business concepts.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholder needs and help drive alignment across teams.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners.
- Ability to balance short-term execution with awareness of longer-term goals and dependencies.
- Ability to collaborate with both full-time employees and external partners.
- Ability to solve complex problems and adapt to evolving priorities and business needs.
- Three or more years of experience in product management, product ownership, or a related role.
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data.
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer.
- May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment.
- Employment with RPM Living is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
- A valid driver’s license is preferred.
