About the Role
We are seeking a Tax Senior Associate for our Real Estate group. We serve a broad array of real estate owners, developers, and investors. Our people work on key client issues in domestic federal taxation using AI and cutting-edge technology, with a focus on implementing tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Preparing complex tax returns
- Detailed review and analysis of tax returns
- Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, concerns, etc.
- Performing, documenting, and summarizing research and conclusions regarding specific tax issues
- Develop, motivate, and train staff level and intern team members
- Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Some travel may be required
Requirements
- Must be eligible to sit for the CPA exam –or a licensed JD
- Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to collect necessary information for tax service requirements
- Experience preparing and reviewing returns
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
- RSM does not intend to hire entry level candidates who will require sponsorship now OR in the future (i.e. F-1 visa holders).
- If you are a recent U.S. college / university graduate possessing 1-2 years of progressive and relevant work experience in a same or similar role to the one for which you are applying, excluding internships, you may be eligible for hire as an experienced associate.
- RSM will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records.
Skills
- Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation and compliance
- Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation
- Review experience a plus
- Experience in dealing with international tax matters a plus
