About the Role
The Emerald Cloud Laboratory (ECL) enables life scientists to conduct research entirely from a computer, leveraging remote, automated execution of experiments. We are seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our Austin, TX facilities.
Responsibilities
- Planning recurring maintenance schedules for facilities and building equipment.
- Collaborating with maintenance personnel and contractors to ensure safe and effective completion of duties.
- Developing strategies to improve the overall reliability and safety of the facility, personnel, and processes.
- Managing and responding to emergency calls and overseeing time-critical repairs.
- Planning and overseeing the execution of audits, routine maintenance, and improvement projects for facility and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with required building codes (OSHA, Fire Code, GMP).
- Overseeing building security, cleaning, and pest control service providers.
- Building and maintaining quality relationships with key customer stakeholders, internal team members, and external partner service providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Facilities Management.
- Experience with ISO 27001 Certification.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting risk assessments and safety audits.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
- Experience with facilities management, including maintenance, security, and vendor management.
- Knowledge of environmental sustainability practices and initiatives.
- Experience managing a GMP compliant facility preferred.
