About the Role

As a Security Officer Part Time College Campus Patrol, you will serve and safeguard clients in educational settings. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role offers flexibility with scheduling and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious conditions, hazards, and policy violations.
• Complete accurate reports, activity logs, and other required documentation for incidents, patrols, and security-related observations.

Requirements

• Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
