About the Role

The Small Business Loan Servicing Assistant Manager is responsible for the development and supervision of the Small Business Servicing team.

Responsibilities

  • Daily management of the small business loan servicing team members to ensure timely completion of all tasks/workflows
  • Ensure total document and data integrity attributes to comply with CECL data points
  • Oversee the monitoring and resolving of issues and establishing appropriate controls over the use of the core and ancillary systems to comply with audit requirements
  • Act as department’s technical liaison to develop, manage, and implement the ongoing design of operational, servicing and documentation procedures, methods and work systems; accountable for updates to established procedures according to the Bank’s established guidelines
  • Perform servicing responsibilities for complex deals in the absence of an experienced servicer
  • Lead and oversee activities related to loan servicing, documentation, post-closing, and monitoring tasks
  • Train new hires to ensure consistency & standardization in servicing small business loans
  • Perform SOX testing as needed
  • Actively engage with Underwriters, Branch Managers and Business Bankers to collaboratively support a customer’s credit request
  • Meet or exceed established metrics for headcount, Service Level Agreements and efficiency; Manage, research and remediate inquiries and complaints from internal and external customers within established Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
  • Conduct, or participate in, the hiring, coaching, developing and supervising of team members; conducting one-on-one progress and coaching sessions as needed, and identifying and training team members that demonstrate high potential to ensure appropriate succession planning
  • Document and complete annual performance appraisals and performance management duties including, but not limited to, providing appropriate feedback and goal setting
  • Participate, as required, in the preparation of responses to examiners, auditors or internal audit
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts
  • Ensure compliance with Northwest’s policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulations
  • Navigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiency
  • Work as part of a team
  • Work with on-site equipment

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years Small Business loan or banking experience preferred
  • 2 - 6 years Supervisory experience (formal or informal) preferred
  • Knowledge of appropriate loan support systems
  • Ability to maximize available technology tools
  • Knowledge of multiple entity types and structures of small business borrowers and loans
  • Ability to have successful interactions with key strategic partners at a management level
  • Knowledge of small business loan products, credit policy, compliance and interpretation of legal and regulatory issues
  • Knowledge of organizational procedures, operations and applicable compliance rules and regulations
  • Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions while working on multiple tasks without compromising quality or increasing legal, operational or compliance risks
  • Efficient communication, time management and organizational skills
