About the Role
Seneca Health Care Center is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to maintain accurate resident medical records, support the clinical team, and ensure regulatory compliance within a healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, update, thin, and close resident medical records per facility policies and regulations.
- Collect information from various departments to ensure record accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor and audit resident charts for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Update resident care policies and maintain required medical records documentation.
- Prepare physician paperwork and manage appointment schedules.
- Process transfer, discharge, and former resident records.
- Add physician orders, lab results, and departmental reports to records.
- Process various administrative and medical records functions including admission packets.
- Support quality assurance activities and communicate resident status changes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of administrative experience.
- Preferred 1 year of experience in medical administration.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accuracy with multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic records management.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with residents, families, physicians, and team members.
