About the Role

Drives visitor attendance, audience engagement, and brand loyalty by managing performance data and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns for exhibitions, public programs, and museum initiatives. This role manages audience data, campaign analytics, and CRM insights to translate visitor data into actionable marketing tactics, lifecycle campaigns, and targeted segmentation, leveraging modern digital tools to track campaign performance, optimize workflows, and broaden audience reach.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks, manages, and analyzes marketing data across all digital and traditional channels to inform campaign execution and audience targeting.
  • Acts as the primary lead for implementing data-driven campaign strategies and multi-channel marketing plans.
  • Plans and manages integrated digital and traditional marketing campaigns, coordinating data-informed channels including paid social media, display advertising, SEO/SEM, email communication pipelines, and lifecycle journeys.
  • Manages the marketing calendar to ensure timely asset distribution, data collection, and cross-departmental alignment.
  • Manages marketing analytics tools and platforms to continuously monitor campaign KPIs, track ROI, and deliver actionable data reports.
  • Oversees post-visit survey distribution and analyzes audience data, visitor lifetime value (LTV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS) metrics.
  • Maintains data accuracy and campaign tagging across web, email, CRM, and ticketing platforms.
  • Utilizes modern marketing software, CRM systems, and AI-assisted analytics tools to streamline content creation, conduct A/B testing, and deliver personalized, data-targeted campaign content.
  • Coordinates with media agencies to execute approved media plans, track ad performance data, and monitor campaign delivery against established budgets.
  • Serves as the primary operational point of contact for external marketing vendors.
  • Develops creative briefs informed by audience data for campaigns, programs, and brand initiatives.
  • Writes and edits engaging copy, maintaining consistency with museum brand identity, voice, and values.
  • Oversees the end-to-end production of marketing collateral, routing materials through required internal approval channels.
  • Mentors and supervises the Marketing Coordinator and supporting staff.
  • Fosters strong working relationships across internal departments to share audience insights and support shared goals.
  • Performs additional duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, data analytics, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of progressive marketing, advertising, or media experience.
  • 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in marketing data management, campaign performance tracking, audience segmentation, and synthesizing raw data into actionable campaign reports.
  • Proven track record in executing integrated, data-driven traditional and digital marketing campaigns across diverse media channels.
  • High proficiency with marketing tech and data tools, including Google Marketing Platform (Analytics, Tag Manager), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), ticketing platforms, CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress), email systems (e.g., Mailchimp), and AI-assisted marketing tools.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with proven ability to manage timelines, track campaign budgets, and prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong copywriting, editing, and data presentation abilities.
  • Standard museum and office environment, including gallery spaces with variable lighting, ambient noise from public programming, and occasional exposure to art-handling or installation activities.
  • Occasional travel to off-site locations for meetings and events.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
  • Extended use of a computer monitor, tablet, stylus, phone, and other technology; sustained visual concentration required.
  • Ability to stand and move for extended periods throughout museum spaces.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying of materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Standard full-time schedule, typically Monday-Friday during core business hours.
  • Must be available to work on occasional evenings and weekends to support museum events and deadlines.
  • High degree of sustained concentration, creative problem-solving, and attention to detail required throughout the day.
  • Must be able to manage multiple concurrent projects under deadline pressure while maintaining quality.
