About the Role
The Asian Art Museum is seeking as needed Security Guards to join our team. This position is at-will and exempt from civil service rules. Typical shifts include varying days and evening shifts, as needed for events and coverage. Hours will be based on operational need, with no guarantee of work assignment or hours. Applicants will be assigned to as-needed shifts at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Patrol public buildings and grounds to safeguard property against damage, hazardous situations or unauthorized entry.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Enforce rules and regulations governing the access to and use of public facilities.
- Prepare routine reports of time and work done.
- Patrol and safeguard facilities.
- Observe and be aware of the surrounding environment and recognize potentially dangerous situations and react appropriately.
- Perform basic incidental duties as needed.
Requirements
- One year of verifiable experience as a security officer.
- Possession of a current California Security Guard Registration Card issued by the California State Bureau of Security and Investigative Services.
- Possession of a High School Diploma or G.E.D. Certificate.
- Possession of a valid state motor vehicle operator's license.
