About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Lead Toddler Teacher to join our mission of giving New York City’s youngest learners a joyful, solid foundation for lifelong learning. In this role, you’ll be the leader of an inclusive, nurturing 2’s classroom, utilizing either the Tools of the Mind Curriculum to guide students through a journey of intentional play. More than just a teacher, you’ll be the architect of a culture that fosters inquiry, independence, and social-emotional intelligence, and inspires children to become lifelong learners.

Responsibilities

  • Use the Tools of the Mind Curriculum as your foundation to build engaging, play-based, experiential lessons that spark curiosity in preschoolers aged 2.
  • Ensure every student’s health and safety is the top priority.
  • Maintain a "safe-to-fail" environment where children feel secure enough to take risks and explore their world.
  • Support "the whole child"- physically, cognitively, and emotionally, all while helping them navigate big feelings and big milestones.
  • Build trust with parents and caregivers through daily updates, sharing the successes and challenges of their child’s day, and building a bridge between school and home.

Requirements

  • An Infant/Toddler CDA, Associates, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in ECE or a related field (or currently enrolled) required
  • A NYS Early Childhood Initial or Permanent Certification (B-2 or 1-6) strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of lead teaching experience in Pre-K (2-4 year olds).
  • Be a passionate teacher and lifelong learner!
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
  • The role involves standing, walking, sitting, constant movement, and occasional climbing.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds is required.
  • Specific sensory abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
