About the Role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will contribute to a welcoming environment while responding to security-related concerns with professionalism and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at government transportation facilities.
- Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned facilities, public areas, parking locations, transit-related properties, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points, observe activity throughout assigned locations, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations through established reporting channels.
- Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while providing professional assistance and directions to visitors and personnel.
Requirements
- Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
