About the Role

Wells Fargo is seeking an Institutional Municipal Trader to join the Municipal Products Group. This role will help clients achieve their objectives while delivering positive business results for Wells Fargo by providing liquidity, managing risk, and interacting with institutional clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide liquidity to institutional clients through making markets and trading municipal bonds
  • Manage and hedge municipal risk through various market conditions
  • Consistently interact with established tier-one institutional customer relationships and maximize trading activity
  • Provide market color and trade ideas to customers and MPG
  • Partner with traders, salespeople, underwriters, analysts, bankers and other business partners to deliver solutions to clients and help grow MPG

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Securities Trading experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment
  • FINRA Series SIE, 7, 63 (or 66) and 52 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory
  • Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards
  • Candidates must successfully complete and pass a FINRA background check prior to hire
  • Individuals who are subject to statutory disqualification are not eligible to be associated with a FINRA-registered broker-dealer
  • Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents
  • Specific compliance policies may apply regarding outside activities or personal investing
  • Third-Party recordings are prohibited unless authorized by Wells Fargo
  • Wells Fargo requires you to directly represent your own experiences during the recruiting and hiring process

Skills

  • Experience in the municipal market
  • Established relationships across the municipal industry, including active relationships with tier-one institutional municipal investors
  • Understanding of various marking segments, including high grade and high yield credits
  • Knowledge and experience with both tax-exempt and taxable municipal bonds
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of all municipal products
  • Organized
  • Affable
  • Able to work in a collegial, team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Exceptional communication skills

  • $185,000.00 - $300,000.00
