About the Role

The Summer Executive Associate (SEA) Program offers 1st year MBA students a 10-week project-based assignment with significant access to senior management. This role provides an opportunity to influence projects with enterprise-wide visibility, develop a deep understanding of commercial banking and the financial services industry, and work on priorities shaping the future of the business. The work involves business strategy, product development, business transformation, operating model design, and performance management.

Responsibilities

Participate in planning and implementing new products, programs, and initiatives to achieve business objectives.
Support the development of project roadmaps and plans.
Provide analytical support for critical Bank-wide or divisional projects, including planning, design, and analysis of results.
Develop comprehensive documentation to align with regulatory expectations.
Analyze complex data sets and optimize data structures.
Apply critical thinking to independently navigate problems and issues.
Develop and produce complex ad-hoc and automated departmental analyses and reports.
Synthesize large volumes of qualitative and quantitative information for analysis and decision-making.
Coordinate discussions and agenda development for meetings with external peers, industry groups, agencies, and officials.
Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls.
Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Current enrollment in an MBA Program from an accredited business school.
Minimum three years of professional, full-time work experience.
Demonstrated leadership potential through previous work experience, extracurricular activities, or community involvement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically analyze complex business challenges.
Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
