About the Role
Product Analytics is developing AI agents to monitor product health, analyze user behavior, and generate insights for product leaders. This role focuses on building these agents for the Tax, Audit & Accounting product portfolio, transforming pre-trained models and LLM APIs into dependable tooling.
Responsibilities
- Integrate pre-trained models, LLM APIs, and tool-calling integrations into analytics products.
- Refactor experimental prototypes into production-ready components with error handling, guardrails, telemetry, and logging.
- Prepare, clean, and structure datasets for AI agents and build/maintain data pipelines.
- Contribute to data modeling and exposure for LLM-based reasoning.
- Work within shared repositories, reusable components, and standards defined by the AI Engineering Lead.
- Register shipped components for discoverability and reuse.
- Apply evaluation standards including validation sampling, source traceability, prompt/model version documentation, and testing for non-deterministic behavior.
- Diagnose and resolve failures and quality drift in owned agents.
- Conduct root cause analysis for moderately complex issues.
- Update context, prompts, and logic based on data or business rule changes.
- Contribute to systems that monitor product/portfolio health and proactively surface issues.
- Develop natural language interfaces, semantic layers, and feedback loops for proactive intelligence systems.
- Interpret business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Translate ambiguous business needs into agent designs.
- Participate in planning, code reviews, and team ceremonies.
- Document components and provide clear status updates.
- Track AI tooling advancements and quickly become proficient with new frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years in software engineering, data engineering, data science, or analytics.
- Hands-on experience building or contributing to LLM-based agents or AI-native systems.
- Demonstrated personal investment in AI through experimentation and personal projects.
- Proficiency in Python and strong SQL.
- Solid grounding in programming concepts, design patterns, SDLC principles, and unit testing.
- Exposure to multi-component AI systems (e.g., RAG pipelines, agents with multi-step reasoning, tool-calling).
- Exposure to AI-adjacent infrastructure (e.g., vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, retrieval pipelines).
- Experience refactoring experimental or research code into production-ready components.
- Familiarity with MLOps and LLMOps practices and the AI software lifecycle.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to ask clarifying questions early.
