About the Role
The Senior Registration Associate provides oversight and support for workflow and functions, assuming an expanded role with increased responsibility including delegation and process improvement. This role works closely with leadership to maintain efficient operations, ensure quality, and partner on team selection and performance feedback. The Senior Registration Associate also ensures customer needs are met and operational goals are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates operational, technical, and clerical support services to enhance department processes.
- Plans and organizes workflows and prioritizes customer needs.
- May lead a small team and serve as a mentor.
- Creates and maintains procedural standards and records.
- Develops and maintains educational programs for team members, including new employee orientation.
- Utilizes multiple system applications for data collection and management.
- Incorporates knowledge of Trinity Health policies, practices, and processes to ensure quality, confidentiality, and safety.
- Demonstrates knowledge of departmental processes and procedures and ability to acquire new knowledge.
- Collaborates on performance improvement activities.
- Identifies opportunities, develops solutions, and leads the team through resolution.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent / GED.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience with competency in patient access, pre-service, and/or registration experience.
- Ability to obtain a national certification in HFMA CRCR and/or NAHAM CHAA within one (1) year of hire.
- Previous Leadership Experience (nice to have).
- Knowledge of federal or state government agencies including Medicare, Medicaid, VA or Charity Care programs, or patient management and healthcare accounts receivable within the revenue cycle (nice to have).
