About the Role
As a CBT Therapist, you will join a network of organizations providing individuals experiencing depression and/or anxiety with access to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The purpose of this position is to deliver structured Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for people living in the community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify symptoms and inform/monitor individualized treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group protocol-based structured psychotherapy, including CBT and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
- Plan, organize and co-facilitate CBT treatment groups.
- Participate in regular clinical consultation and related activities.
- Collaborate with counselling Community of Practice in the provision of care and support counselling wait volumes.
- Contact primary care providers to report clients' service initiation and communicate interventions and care plans.
- Maintain professional documentation within 24 hours of client contact.
- Work effectively and collaboratively within an interprofessional multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in agency and community meetings, committees and work groups.
Requirements
- Must be registered in Ontario as a member in good standing with an appropriate regulatory college and eligible to perform psychotherapy as a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Social Worker, Registered Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse.
- University Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing); Masters level is an asset.
- Minimum 1-year experience in the mental health and addictions sector with a focus on assessment, brief interventions and short-term support.
- Expertise in community mental health and/or community-based human services.
- Experience with a minimum of 2 of the following trainings or willingness to train within 6 months: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma Informed Care, Virtual Care, Interprofessional Multidisciplinary Teams.
- Learn and understand community mental health and human service networks.
- Understand the experiences and needs of the mental health and addictions populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to approach, listen, build trust, and communicate across diverse cultures and intersectionality.
- Willingness to continually improve understanding around cultural competence.
- Openness to operate from an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming and intersectional framework.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Valid Canadian driver’s license and access to an insured automobile in good repair.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening (Police Check) report.

- $75,509.31 - $89,160.03 annually
