About the Role
The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for achieving individual and retail branch goals across multiple offices through sales, referrals, and retention of account relationships. This role involves participating in community affairs to increase the bank's visibility and develop business relationships, and assuming responsibilities of Senior Branch Manager or Branch Manager as needed.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the bank incentive program in the achievement of bank, office and individual goals.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of bank products.
- Actively promotes referrals and retention of account relationships.
- Proactively supports and motivates staff in the banks referral program and their participation.
- Monitors ongoing sales/referral training needs of staff.
- Assists in the training, scheduling, operations and management of office staff.
- Monitors performance and provides ongoing coaching and feedback to office personnel.
- Assists staff with customer relations.
- Ensures that training requirements are completed by staff on time.
- Works with Senior Branch Manager or Branch Manager to approve performance evaluations of office personnel.
- Participates in the recruiting and interviewing process when the office requires new or additional staff.
- Participates in community events to increase the office’s visibility and to enhance new or existing business opportunities.
- Interviews consumer loan applicants and provides required supporting documentation.
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of laws, compliance regulations and bank policies pertaining to consumer loans and products.
- Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star Bank experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders.
- Incorporate the high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.
Requirements
- High School Diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years of Banking (or Retail/Business related), Operational, Sales, or Consumer Lending experience.
- Registration with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System Registry (NMLS) is required in accordance with SAFE Act requirements.
- Ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with customers.
- Occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent lifting of 1 – 10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Occasional travel throughout site locations.
- Extensive computer usage is required.

Work Type
