About the Role
The School of Business at the University of Mount Saint Vincent invites applications for a full-time Accounting faculty position, anticipated to start in January 2027. This role involves teaching undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses, demonstrating a commitment to innovative pedagogy, and engaging in professional development.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and/or graduate accounting courses consistent with School of Business needs, faculty qualifications, and applicable accreditation and regulatory requirements
- Demonstrate commitment to innovative, student-centered pedagogy, including experiential, project-based, and technology-enhanced learning approaches
- Teach high-quality asynchronous online courses that foster engagement, instructor presence, and meaningful student interaction
- Assess and grade assignments, projects, and exams with actionable feedback, returning them to students promptly
- Provide in-person and virtual office hours each week to support students with guidance and refer them to support services as needed
- Engage in ongoing professional development in both the academic discipline and teaching methods
- Collaborate with other faculty members to align course requirements and contribute to departmental goals
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Business or Accounting is required
- Certified Public Accounting certification
- Experience teaching undergraduate accounting courses across various levels would also be advantageous
