About the Role
As a staff-level software engineer, you will drive the technical vision and roadmap for our Infrastructure Teams. You will lead the design, development, and maintenance of highly scalable, performant, and reliable systems supporting product and platform growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products and features that meet customer needs and Maven's quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of highly scalable, performant, and reliable systems supporting Maven's platform and backend teams.
- Propose, design, develop, and implement cloud-based solutions ensuring system agility, flexibility, and scalability.
- Drive technical design discussions and provide guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architecture principles.
- Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams to develop new features and products, ensuring they meet customer needs and Maven's quality standards.
- Mentor and guide mid-level engineers, developing their technical skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and trends to drive innovation and improve engineering processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in backend development and platform architecture.
- Proven track record of building highly scalable, performant, and reliable systems.
- Experience designing and implementing complex distributed systems, including microservices architecture, containerization, and orchestration.
- Strong expertise in developing cloud-based solutions with hands-on experience in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and serverless architectures.
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages (Java, Python, Go, etc.).
- Experience leading technical design discussions and providing guidance on best practices, coding standards, and architecture principles.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.

- $230,000 - $270,000 per year
