About the Role
This role serves as a senior advisor within a new, highly visible department focused on AI acceleration, sitting within the Legal Technology & Enablement team. The position is ideal for an individual energized by legal innovation and drawn to working directly with senior lawyers. The primary objective is to build the confidence and proficiency partners need to effectively use AI in their practice, enabling them to speak confidently to clients about AI, use it in daily work, understand AI supervision, and leverage it for business development.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior AI advisor to partners in West Coast and Texas offices, building trust from the initial interaction.
- Orient partners to the firm's AI tools, including licensing, access, and suitability for different types of work.
- Receive, triage, and log requests from partners and attorneys in the region for tracking and resolution.
- Facilitate working sessions to guide partners from initial access to applying AI tools in their practice.
- Develop and maintain a library of session outlines, curriculum, and worked examples for each AI tool.
- Build and refine AI solutions tailored to the actual working methods of individual partners and their teams.
- Create AI talking points and materials to help partners confidently discuss the firm's AI usage with clients.
- Design and deliver AI training sessions for partner audiences in various settings.
- Advise attorneys on specific AI use cases in live matters, assessing AI's value and appropriate tool selection.
- Collaborate with other internal AI teams and practice group AI solution attorneys for matter-specific solutions.
- Maintain focus on tool fit and workflow for advisory work.
- Champion a culture of curiosity and continuous learning, meeting partners and attorneys at their current level of understanding.
- Work closely with fellow AI Advisors and the AI Advisory Analyst to ensure consistent service delivery across offices.
- Document all delivered solutions in the team's record and keep entries updated for colleague accessibility.
- Stay current with AI and legal technology trends, including peer firm developments and market direction.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in legal technology, innovation, enablement, knowledge management, or practice support.
- Experience ideally within a law firm, professional services, or comparable knowledge-driven environment.
- Strong practical fluency with generative AI tools.
- Strong understanding of how partners lead teams, serve clients, and build business, and where AI can improve these functions.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to build credibility with partners and senior lawyers.
- Demonstrated success in driving technology adoption with senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to build training from scratch, including session outlines and worked examples.
- Ability to deliver training to a senior professional audience, both one-to-one and in group settings.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel to other US offices as required by engagements.
