About the Role
We are hiring a Principal Product Manager to own the Data Growth Platform end to end, including its architecture, capabilities, expansion across One Disney use cases, and marketing outcomes. This builder-operator role requires setting the vision, owning business outcomes, and diving into the technical details of data models, identity match rates, governance workflows, and campaign results. Success is measured by the business wins achieved through the platform's deployment.
Responsibilities
- Own the vision, strategy, and roadmap for data, identity, intelligence, and activation, ensuring each milestone delivers standalone business value.
- Manage the full product surface, including the cross-segment data model, data sharing architecture, identity and household resolution, governance layer, data contracts, audience creation, activation, and campaign measurement.
- Serve as the accountable owner across matrixed teams including engineering, Corporate Brand, Ad Sales, Disney Experiences, enterprise data science, Privacy, Legal, and Data Governance.
- Prioritize privacy and governance as a first principle, owning consent enforcement, tagging, masking, GDPR/CCPA policy, and lineage as product requirements.
- Make explicit build-vs-buy-vs-partner decisions for the vendor landscape, cloud data warehousing, ML/analytics tooling, activation platforms, identity providers, and data cataloging.
- Guard the reuse principle by productizing common integrations and patterns to reduce the cost of subsequent use cases.
- Establish a quarterly operating rhythm with measurable platform goals, a published scorecard, and honest retrospectives.
- Own and improve core platform metrics such as audience development cycle time, activation volume, identity match coverage, and time-to-first-value.
- Address platform gaps, such as incomplete profile data and dependencies on privacy clearance for household resolution.
- Drive self-service capabilities for marketers to size and build audiences without filing tickets.
- Fund and defend platform debt paydown to reduce the cost of incremental use cases.
- Position the platform as the default growth layer across Entertainment, Streaming, ESPN, Disney Experiences, Consumer Products, Studios, and Ad Sales.
- Land foundational use cases and turn them into reusable patterns for audience activation, subscriber re-engagement, personalization, and cross-business modeling.
- Launch and instrument initial activations to generate performance data for the platform.
- Partner deeply across business units to understand segment goals, data, constraints, and incentives.
- Navigate the governance frontier with Privacy, Legal, and Data Governance from the start.
- Tie platform capabilities directly to business outcomes like user-level ARPU, lifetime value, churn reduction, and marketing spend efficiency.
- Partner with marketing teams on real campaigns to ensure platform-driven performance improvements.
- Build measurement and experimentation into the platform for provable and repeatable wins.
- Reframe the platform's narrative to leadership as a growth engine, securing continued investment.
- Treat marketers as primary customers, understanding their workflow and continuously translating feedback into the roadmap.
Requirements
- 10+ years in product management, with significant experience on data, platform, or marketing technology products serving internal customers.
- Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of a platform, from vision to operations, with quantifiable outcomes.
- Deep fluency in the marketing data stack, including customer data platforms, identity resolution, audience segmentation and activation, campaign delivery, and measurement and attribution.
- Strong technical depth, including data modeling, warehouse architecture, API contracts, and system trade-offs.
- Working command of privacy and consent as product constraints, including GDPR, CCPA, consent enforcement, data masking and tagging, and surrounding approval workflows.
- A track record of influencing without authority across large, matrixed organizations with independent P&Ls and competing priorities.
- Rigorous, metrics-first operating style, defining measures before building and reporting against them honestly.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of briefing both engineers and executives clearly.
