About the Role
This role is responsible for providing guidance and assistance to Associates and Managers within the organization on Associate Relations matters.
Responsibilities
- Acts as a business partner to support and guide Managers and Senior Leaders on Associate Relations matters.
- Provides advice and counsel on performance management, leaves of absence, workplace accommodations, investigation outcomes, and attendance management and return to work processes.
- Advises Managers on disciplinary and/or termination situations.
- Provides advice and counsel on internal policies and provincial Employment Standards legislation and interpretation.
- Produces letters and other documentation for Associate disciplinary issues, termination, accommodations, and other situations.
- Supports and guides Associates.
- Responds to Associate questions and assists with work-related concerns, workplace accommodation requests, and safety concerns.
- Attends clubs or offices as needed.
- Acts as the main resource and subject-matter expert for all Human Resources legislation and interpretation.
- Ensures compliance with all provincial employment standards legislation and works with Managers to update related policies and processes.
- Facilitates virtual and in-person seminars and trainings for management on Human Resource and employment law topics.
- Completes various reports for tracking of terminations, leaves, resignations, and accommodations.
- Inputs data into various tracking tools on a weekly/monthly basis.
- Works with the Legal team as necessary to obtain clarity on legal employment matters.
- Utilizes Associate Information System (AIS) to review Associate data and approve transactions.
- Participates in projects related to employment law and Associates.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills
- Subject Matter Expert in employment relations matters.
