About the Role
The Store Manager leads Mattress Firm's vision and sales performance goals by holding associates accountable for in-store merchandising, selling programs, and driving KPI results. This role supports the omni-channel experience, ensures teams prioritize the customer, and creates an engaging environment for team members. The Store Manager acts as a coach, developing associates' skills and performance to foster a motivated team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one meetings to understand team motivations and aspirations.
- Develop a comprehensive team "bio book".
- Conduct 30-60-90-day check-ins with new team members.
- Conduct workforce management activities, including store staffing schedules and reconciling punches.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, appearance and functionality standards, and state regulations.
- Professionally communicate and represent the Company brand in all interactions.
- Follow Company procedures for product transfers and inventory documentation.
- Plan strategically.
- Analyze reporting to determine appropriate staffing levels and partner with leadership on staffing changes.
- Provide technical and product knowledge to associates and customers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert.
- Analyze reporting to identify skill gaps and address them through coaching.
- Achieve or exceed individual store financial targets through effective execution and customer service.
- Ensure store execution of product merchandising, marketing, and POP standards.
- Partner with marketing to plan, implement, and monitor store's social media strategy.
- Ensure timely opening and closing procedures.
- Manage stock inventory levels for the assigned store.
- Review merchandise flow for the assigned store, ensuring accurate stock.
- Follow all Company procedures on cash handling, payment acceptance, and deposit processes.
- Adhere to all sales processing policies for customer invoicing.
- Stand or sit for 8+ hours at a time.
- Execute company initiatives and other requested activities.
- Maintain awareness of competition, advertisements, and services, developing counter-strategies.
- Conduct store-level inventory processes and research discrepancies.
- Lift, push, or pull 50+ pounds.
Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States is required.
