About the Role
Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I to join our team in Amherst, NY. This role is crucial for providing essential diagnostic services to patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection (phlebotomy) on patients of all ages.
- Process specimens according to established procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare professionals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program.
- Current phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT).
- Previous phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Excellent venipuncture and capillary collection skills.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
