About the Role
Geneva General Hospital is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Transport Aide to join our team. Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients throughout the hospital using wheelchairs, beds, and stretchers
- Assist with the transportation of medically complex patients alongside nursing personnel
- Perform EKG tracings following appropriate procedures
- Retrieve and deliver medical records, equipment, supplies, and specimens
- Clean and redistribute wheelchairs, stretchers, and other transport equipment
- Respond promptly to patient transport requests and communicate delays when necessary
- Assist patients and visitors by providing friendly, professional customer service and helping them locate hospital departments
- Support nursing and patient care teams with a variety of direct and indirect patient care activities
- Respond to emergency alerts and assist as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current BLS certification through the RQI system during clinical orientation
- CPI certification within six months of hire
- Ability to successfully complete EKG tracing, medical record retrieval, and patient one-to-one training within the first month
- Previous customer service experience, especially in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Professional and welcoming demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with others
