About the Role

Integrated Care Solutions NRIO, a division of Bayshore HealthCare, offers community-minded brain injury rehabilitation. We empower individuals with tools and guidance to enhance their quality of life using a person- and family-centered care approach. This part-time role involves supervising and supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABIs) at our Etobicoke Residential Rehabilitation site and with community clients in the GTA.

Responsibilities

  • Work with individuals with acquired brain injuries assisting them with increasing levels of independence through individualized rehabilitation programs (responsible for up to 5 clients at a particular time)
  • Complete documentation following company and provincial guidelines
  • Follow the designed rehabilitation program as accurately as possible
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs); performing personal care, medication management, various forms of transfer tasks, housekeeping
  • Accompany clients on community outings as needed via external transport services or your own vehicle
  • Utilize appropriate Crisis and Behavioural Management strategies
  • Collect required clinical data through documentation, tracking, etc.
  • Complete research to assist with enhancing client programs
  • Other clinical and administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

  • G driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract, access to a vehicle and the proper insurance to transport clients in own vehicle is required
  • Availability to work on weekends, days, evenings, occasional overnights and some holidays
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health issues, dual diagnoses, behavioural challenges, chronic pain, or addictions
  • Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, including managing challenging behaviours (e.g., aggression, elopement, disinhibition)
  • Ability to work independently, take direction, and collaborate effectively with a team
  • Willingness and ability to perform personal care, medication assistance, ADLs, administrative tasks, advocacy, and therapy implementation
  • Physical capability to bend, stretch, lift
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • New hires may be required to provide proof of vaccination against illnesses such as COVID-19, Hepatitis, Seasonal Flu etc.
