About the Role
You will be part of a team of technically enthusiastic engineers, accompanying the next tech unicorn in the defense sector in the development of one of the first multinational drone early warning systems. You can expect a multinational, pragmatic, hands-on team with a strong focus on innovation.
Responsibilities
- Successfully get complex products up and running at customer companies on-site, involving up to 6 weeks of travel.
- Work in operational environments to validate, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software under live and unpredictable field conditions.
- Understand complex customer requirements, engage in technical pre-sales, and develop small, customized system adaptations to ensure products fit perfectly into customer ecosystems.
- Monitor systems, resolve disruptions, and continuously improve observability.
Requirements
- EU citizenship is required due to security regulations for this role.
- Officially registered in an EU country.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in IT (e.g., hardware/software), ideally 10-20 years.
- Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Field Application Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or Deployment Architect in the IoT environment.
- Experience with embedded Linux on various architectures and in-depth knowledge of low-level Linux network configuration (routing, iptables, socket programming).
- Expertise in debugging and troubleshooting.
- HIL/SIL experience.
- Very good knowledge of C/C++, Rust, Go, Python, or TypeScript.
- Fluent English; any additional spoken language is a plus.
- Willingness to work in the defense sector.
- Thrive in a dynamic startup or scaleup environment.
- 50% willingness to travel within the EU, especially to NATO's eastern borders.
