About the Role

The Sanitation Supervisor oversees and directs the sanitation department team in all areas of sanitation for production areas and machines. This role requires the ability to work from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM, with flexibility as needed.

Responsibilities

• Organize, lead, and supervise sanitation employees, proactively solving problems.
• Observe and evaluate processes, making independent decisions on sanitation improvements.
• Provide guidance and support to sanitation employees to achieve daily tasks and goals.
• Communicate effectively and make sound decisions.
• Evaluate employee performance and administer discipline when necessary.
• Assist with hiring, advancement, transfer, promotion, and termination decisions.
• Delegate responsibilities as needed.
• Schedule employee vacations.
• Maintain accurate records and employee files.
• Motivate by example.
• Process daily employee issues and complaints, providing tactful feedback.
• Collaborate with the quality control department for information gathering and follow-up.
• Ensure a safe work environment.
• Work overtime as needed with little or no notice.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Produce products exceeding quality and value expectations by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies, and Procedures outlined in the Safe Quality Food Program.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or commensurate experience.
• 4 years of sanitation experience or more.
• In-depth understanding of manufacturing sanitation processes.
• Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on functional expertise and experience.
• Ability to provide leadership, support, communication, and direction to line personnel.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot, and problem-solve beyond routine issues.
• Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
• Hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hardhats, and/or safety glasses may be required.
• Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
