Responsibilities
- Able to use basic painting equipment and applications including brushes, rollers and paint equipment.
- Able to perform and demonstrate proper taping and finishing techniques for quality and longevity for drywall installation.
- Assists in making cosmetic repairs and installations of various types of wallpaper and paint.
- Files accurate daily log of routine duties and work order repair requests.
- Effectively prioritizes duties to maximize the workday.
- Consistently demonstrates concern for safe operation of power tools.
- Accurately reads blueprints.
- Assists in other areas within the Facilities Dept. when requested to do so.
- Efficient in knowledge and use of most types of painting finish techniques, including marblux, faux, sponge, antiquing, Scuff master and feather painting.
- Efficient in the knowledge and use of all type painting tools including all different types of brushes, rollers and pads.
- Efficient in the knowledge and use of all types of spray painting equipment.
- Overall responsibility to take the appropriate steps to prepare various types of damaged surfaces for repair and to make quality repairs in a timely.
- May function as a mentor for Level l Painter.
- Assists in ordering supplies from onsite warehouse to perform jobs.
- Excels in all painting techniques and applications.
- Responsible for assisting in estimating man-hours and materials required to make the necessary aesthetic work order repairs.
- Helps to schedule, coordinate, and manage aesthetic repairs as required.
- Assists Construction Site Manager with ordering supplies, material and equipment.
- May function as a mentor for Level l & Level ll Painter.
- Provides input to the Construction Site Manager regarding coaching, disciplinary actions and performance evaluations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma.
- Experience based on Career Tier Progression.
- Experience can be substituted for educational requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, diplomacy and objectivity.
- Valid NYS Driver’s License.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be detail-oriented and able to strive in a multitask environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 71 - 80 pounds.
- 0-2 years related experience (Level I).
- 2-5 years related experience (Level II).
- 5-10 years related experience (Level III).
- High School Diploma or Equivalency + Tech Math I Course Completion (Level I).
- High School Diploma or Equivalency (Level II & III).
- Complete 10 hours of seminar and/or continuous education in related field (Level III).
