About the Role
The Integrations Operations Engineering (IOE) team strengthens Plaid's network with financial institutions by resolving integration issues to increase data reliability and quality, and by building new integrations to grow our financial network. This role is mission-critical in ensuring industry-leading connectivity for customers.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve high-impact integration issues by writing, deploying, and monitoring code.
- Prioritize issues based on customer impact and understand the prioritization model.
- Escalate to and work directly with Data Partners to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Apply mitigation techniques using internal tooling and configuration changes.
- Give and receive code review, acting as owners of the integrations codebase.
- Handle escalations from other internal teams and provide expert insight into Plaid integrations.
- Meet a best-effort SLA on Business-Critical issues.
- Maintain the integrations issue backlog through triage and auditing.
- Continually improve team processes and tooling.
- Occasionally build new integrations with financial institutions or platforms.
- Rotate through on-call duties to maintain integration uptime.
Requirements
- 1.5+ years in a highly technical role (e.g., software engineering, technical support engineering).
- Experience developing web services, APIs, or clients/integrations that interface with them.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging instincts.
- Customer-first attitude and strong sense of empathy.
- Analytical, data-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to identify and improve processes and increase efficiency.
- Track record of resolving a high volume of technical issues with quality and speed.
