About the Role
Serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a secure environment for personnel and visitors. Provide outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and use technology to document security-related information.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors at a utility location by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
- Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor entry records, and direct authorized personnel in accordance with established site procedures.
- Operate access control systems, review alarms or unusual access activity, and report discrepancies, unauthorized access attempts, and other security-related concerns to site leadership and/or the appropriate contacts.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established utility facility procedures and communicating with emergency responders when directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, business areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Have access control/badge experience, preferred.
- Have customer service experience, preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
