About the Role

Yelp engineers are cooperative, value authenticity, and encourage creative solutions. All new engineers deploy code in their first week, with opportunities for growth supported by managers, mentors, and teams. The Full Stack Engineers are key to product development, building innovative features and applications to make Yelp the go-to platform for local businesses. The Growth team focuses on designing, building, and optimizing experiences to convert mobile web users into app installs by developing high-visibility features that drive user acquisition. Collaboration with multiple Engineering, Product, Legal, Design, and Marketing teams is essential.

Responsibilities

Architect and lead the implementation of highly reliable and easy-to-understand product features.
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to shape our product and technical roadmaps.
Deploy projects in a service-oriented architecture, from backend services to fully-featured UIs.
Run A/B experiments and analyze resulting data.
Mentor other engineers and share learned skills.

Requirements

Ideally 3-5 years of industry experience.
Deep understanding of at least one popular server-side web framework (e.g., Django, Flask, Rails, Pyramid, Laravel, Express).
Deep understanding of a modern JS frontend framework (e.g., React, Angular, Vue, Ember).
Proven ability to lead large projects involving multiple people in a highly collaborative, asynchronous, and distributed environment.
Experience leading or contributing to technical roadmaps.
Experience mentoring other engineers.
