About the Role
Snap Inc. is seeking an Art Director to join the SPECS Marketing team. This role will develop creative from concept through execution for key partners, brand campaigns, and marketing briefs. You will create integrated campaigns across various platforms, developing visually compelling ideas and design systems to influence consumer behavior and drive impact through craft and innovation. This is a player-coach role, requiring both leadership and hands-on creative work.
Responsibilities
- Develop creative concepts and visual ideas for integrated brand campaigns, partner initiatives, AR experiences, and marketing briefs.
- Create big-picture campaign concepts and creative platforms adaptable across photography, film, web, social, AR, experiential, and emerging formats.
- Concept and art direct photo and film productions, defining visual treatments, casting, wardrobe, production design, lighting, and overall visual language.
- Collaborate with producers, photographers, directors, cinematographers, stylists, editors, and other production partners to bring creative concepts to life.
- Concept and art direct web and digital experiences, including campaign sites, landing pages, and interactive elements.
- Develop concepts and visual systems for social-first content, including campaign extensions, short-form video, and platform-native creative.
- Translate campaign ideas into cohesive visual systems consistent across channels while adapting to each medium.
- Inspire, guide, and motivate designers and copywriters through strong art direction.
- Partner closely with copywriters to develop cohesive, integrated ideas.
- Present creative concepts to stakeholders using storytelling and strategic thinking.
- Develop and present creative treatments, mood boards, visual territories, campaign concepts, and production approaches.
- Collaborate with comms planners, strategists, and producers to understand campaign performance and apply learnings.
- Manage and mentor junior creatives to elevate conceptual thinking, craft, and execution.
- Oversee visual execution across scripts, pitches, storyboards, treatments, presentations, and marketing materials.
- Independently concept, design, and build high-fidelity campaign assets and AR experiences.
- Iterate on layouts, typography, visual systems, and campaign assets using design tools like Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Execute key design deliverables on priority projects while balancing art direction and leadership.
- Ensure creative and design intent is carried through from concept to final output across all touchpoints.
- Maintain a high level of craft and visual consistency across all campaign expressions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant creative experience.
- Proven experience working as an Art Director in an agency, studio, or in-house creative environment.
- Strong track record of concepting and executing integrated brand campaigns across multiple channels.
- Demonstrated experience taking creative from initial concept and visual development through production and final execution.
- Experience concepting and art directing photography and film productions.
- Experience developing storyboards, visual treatments, mood boards, and production approaches for photography, film, animation, and interactive experiences.
- Experience concepting and designing for websites, digital experiences, and social content.
- Experience across a range of media, including brand campaigns, photography, film, digital, social, websites, mobile, AR, and emerging formats.
- Strong track record of concepting and executing visually driven digital campaigns, including experience with AR or emerging platforms.
- Experience working in a creative agency, brand studio, or highly conceptual in-house creative environment.
- Experience developing global or large-scale integrated brand campaigns.
- Experience working directly with photographers, directors, production companies, and other external creative partners.
- Experience contributing to new business development, pitches, and creative presentations.
- Experience developing creative that bridges brand storytelling, product storytelling, and emerging technology.

- Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): $130,000-$196,000 annually
- Zone B: $124,000-$186,000 annually
- Zone C: $111,000-$167,000 annually
