About the Role
Heat Treat Technician supports the production of aerospace heat exchangers and thermal management components by operating and monitoring heat treatment furnaces and related equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate heat treatment furnaces, ovens, and associated equipment according to work instructions and process specifications.
- Load and unload production hardware using appropriate fixtures, racks, and tooling.
- Monitor furnace temperatures, soak times, cooling cycles, and atmosphere controls to ensure compliance with process requirements.
- Verify job travelers, work orders, and engineering documentation prior to processing material.
- Maintain detailed process records, furnace logs, and production documentation.
- Perform visual inspections before and after processing to identify defects, distortion, oxidation, contamination, or other nonconformances.
- Verify furnace parameters and process controls meet aerospace requirements.
- Ensure full traceability of materials and production records.
- Report quality concerns, equipment malfunctions, and nonconforming conditions to supervision immediately.
- Perform routine equipment checks and preventive maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Monitor furnace performance and notify maintenance personnel of abnormalities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, process sheets, blueprints, and manufacturing documentation.
- Basic understanding of temperature controls, furnace operations, and production processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills for process documentation and recordkeeping.
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds routinely and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work around elevated temperatures and industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to wear required PPE, including heat-resistant gloves, safety glasses, face shields, and protective clothing.
- Must have the legal right to work in the US.
- Must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
