About the Role

The Cage Cashier provides essential monetary services to casino guests and internal departments, handling various financial transactions including chip exchanges, advances, check cashing, and managing patron accounts. This role also involves supporting remote kiosks and adhering strictly to Seneca Gaming Corporation's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and reconcile assigned casino assets.
  • Allot jackpots to slot attendants and manage slot attendant banks.
  • Distribute and collect cashier banks.
  • Order monies through exchange slips.
  • Redeem chips, tickets, etc. for currency and coin.
  • Complete cash advances and cash personal checks.
  • Process and deliver exchanges to cashiers.
  • Operate coin sorters, wrappers, and currency counters; count down station/float/bank, put coin away, and verify money received from vault/bank/drop.
  • Conform to all rules and regulations of SGC CTR / SAR Compliance.
  • Issue counter checks (markers) to credit customers and accept payments.
  • Accept and distribute funds for patron deposits, withdrawals, and wire transfers.
  • Maintain remote kiosks for redemptions, purchases, jackpots, etc.
  • Prepare, verify, and process chip fills and credits.
  • Maintain counter check inventories and deposits.
  • Maintain accountability for assigned keys and key inventories.
  • Provide assistance to immediate supervisor.
  • Remain knowledgeable of all appropriate regulations.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all gaming records.
  • Work closely with team members of gaming and casino cage departments.
  • Maintain a current understanding of all information security policies and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional guest service in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Maintain a professional work environment with peers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Complete all required SGC Training programs within specified guidelines.
  • Attend all necessary meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of previous cashier or money handling experience required.
  • Previous customer service experience or ability to demonstrate high-level service, listening, and resolution skills required.
  • Effective math skills required.
  • Must be able to pass an SGC-administered math skills test.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino.
  • Must be able to withstand working in a casino environment, including exposure to loud noises, bright lights, and smoke.
  • Continuously bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull.
  • Continuously carry up to twenty-five (25) pounds, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Occasionally climb heights and reach above shoulder level.
  • Occasionally push carts weighing up to one hundred (100) pounds.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
  • Effectively deal with guests, management, team members, and the business community in all situations.

  • Knowledge/operational skills of coin counter, coin wrapping machine and currency counters preferred.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including a 10-key adding machine, personal computer, telephone, and multi-function photocopier.
