About the Role
This internship/co-op role focuses on supporting sales traders, assisting clients, and facilitating daily trading activities. You will also be involved in research, maintaining client-facing portals, and optimizing trading operations through front-office solutions.
Responsibilities
- Working closely with sales traders to support clients and assist with client requests.
- Conducting day-to-day activities that facilitate client trading.
- Allocating client trades to the proper accounts.
- Conducting research and obtaining market data through Bloomberg, Trading systems, and internal databases.
- Maintaining the group's online, client-facing, web portal.
- Designing and implementing front-office solutions to optimize trading operations.
- Assisting in multiple marketplace modeling and ad-hoc quantitative research.
- Coordinating with various groups (middle office, back office, technology, clients) in resolving technical and settlement issues in trading operations.
- Contributing towards the development of marketplace modeling and ad-hoc quantitative research.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a relevant post-secondary program.
- A combination of strong financial/analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in financial modeling and valuation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills are mandatory for direct client interaction.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with others (both internal and external stakeholders).
- Highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a proactive manner.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail is a MUST.
