About the Role
As an Associate, you will play a key role in analyzing potential Infrastructure & Natural Resources (INR) equity investment opportunities, executing transactions, and collaborating with existing portfolio companies to develop strategy and implement value-enhancing initiatives. This role is ideal for an excellent teammate who is highly motivated, enjoys international travel, and thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the construction and implementation of financial modeling tools to analyze investment opportunities.
- Assist in the due diligence process and incorporate findings into financial models.
- Deliver high-quality analysis identifying key value drivers and financial risks through sensitivity and scenario analysis.
- Coordinate with external advisors, consultants, and partners, submitting bids adhering to timelines.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and investment recommendations for senior management and the Board of OTPP.
- Review and analyze financial reports, budgets, board books, and other information from portfolio company management.
- Collaborate with portfolio company management to maintain financial models for strategic issue analysis and company valuation.
- Support internal strategic projects.
- Support the preparation of internal annual valuations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in investment banking, principal investing, or corporate development within an operating business.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence others and present to senior audiences.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to perform in-depth analysis.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities while remaining detail-oriented.
- A proactive attitude and drive toward action and results.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Desire and willingness to travel internationally.
- Candidates must be legally entitled to work in the country where this role is located.
