About the Role

As a Principal Risk Associate at Capital One, you will work with business partners to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the company remains stable and profitable. Responsibilities

  • Analyze international risk data to proactively identify country risks and trends.
  • Advise businesses and support functions on country risks and enhance the second line of defense framework for international risk oversight.
  • Foster collaboration with other risk teams for an integrated international risk experience.
  • Assess changes in internal/external country exposures and conditions, identifying and reporting relevant risks.
  • Execute challenge activities to elevate suspected risks and escalate to leadership as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate independent problem-solving, analysis skills, and attention to detail.
  • Exhibit strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and influencing skills across organizational levels.
  • Stay current on changing economic, social, and political environments to understand impacts on foreign business activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in risk management
  • At least 2 years of experience conducting risk oversight and effective challenge
  • At least 2 years of experience advising internal or external stakeholders on risk identification and mitigation
