About the Role

This role involves assisting with lab setup, cleanup, and technology inventory for Occupational Therapy courses. You will also research emerging technologies relevant to OT practice and help organize student assignments and course materials.

Responsibilities

• Set-up and cleanup labs and classes.
• Maintain an inventory of technology, devices, adaptive equipment, apps, accounts, and accessories.
• Track available technology, its storage location, and identify items needing repair, replacement, updating, or charging.
• Organize digital resources and shared course folders.
• Search for new technologies relevant to OT practice.
• Identify emerging technologies such as AI, virtual/augmented reality, wearable technology, smart-home technology, telehealth, robotics, 3D printing, and accessibility technology.
• Bring potentially relevant technologies or articles to the instructor's attention.
• Create brief annotated bibliographies or evidence summaries.
• Organize literature by topic, population, intervention, outcome, and level/type of evidence.
• Maintain a searchable literature database.
• Collate and organize student submissions.
• Categorize student projects/resources by technology type, population, practice area, etc.
• Prepare equipment/materials before labs and return them to their designated location afterward.
• Check that devices are charged, functioning, and ready for the next use.
• Help develop standardized setup/cleanup procedures.
• Maintain organized records of technology used, resources found, equipment needs, and course updates.
• Potentially track technology and resource usage each semester for future course planning or accreditation purposes.

Requirements

• Occupational Therapy students only.
• Must attach both a resume and cover letter.
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the I-9 and employment eligibility requirements.
• Must bring original, unexpired, authorized personal identification documents to complete the I-9 form.
