About the Role

As the Field Project Superintendent, you will direct and coordinate project activities to ensure goals are met within the specified timeframe and budget. This role requires a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual with excellent organizational skills, a high-energy level, and a profit-driven mindset. You will communicate professionally with sales teams, customers, and manufacturers to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Provide daily on-site work direction to subcontractors, technicians, designers, and administration.
Manage and execute turnkey projects and control installations from start to completion, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, safety, scope, budget, and on-time delivery.
Understand project plans and specifications with the Project Manager.
Alert Project Manager to potential RFIs based on drawing, specification review, and site conditions.
Coordinate required resources to ensure tasks are completed accurately, on time, and within scope.
Communicate any issues, barriers, or concerns to the Project Manager.
Evaluate the contractual scope of work.
Communicate opportunities for additional work to the Project Manager.
Communicate technical and business-related issues with customers.
Review labor, material cost plans, and specifications for work performance.
Review equipment selections and submittals to ensure they meet contract requirements.
Coordinate equipment/material deliveries and inspect equipment upon delivery, reporting any damage immediately.
Schedule equipment and materials procurement for assigned projects.
Coordinate all subcontractor work from outside vendors and suppliers, including mechanical, controls, and electrical subcontractors.
Review subcontractor equipment and/or material submittals to ensure they meet contract requirements.
Represent Texas Air Systems as a primary on-site leader for project execution.
Communicate with owners, architects, MEP consultants, and contractors during all project phases.
Manage risk and establish project recovery plans when required.
Resolve disputes with minimal need for escalation.
Ensure project document controls and deliverables meet contract requirements and standards.
Ensure control technicians complete system controller loading, device verification, and commissioning.
Drive the controls pre-commissioning process and participate in final commissioning.
Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades.
Request and review project as-built and commissioning documentation.
Assist installers with interpretations of electrical and controls drawings and controls wiring termination.
Utilize project management software to manage punch lists and coordinate subcontractors.
Participate in GC and owner punch walks.
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, customers, consultants, engineers, and subcontractors.
Attend job progress meetings as required.
Administer the warranty process, evaluating requests and coordinating resources.
Serve as a customer/owner resource through ongoing training and post-project troubleshooting.
Ensure all job-site personnel and subcontractors adhere to safety standards, including internal programs and OSHA requirements.
Oversee multiple projects and walk job sites as needed.
Protect and mitigate liability.
Support and participate in company safety training and programs.

Requirements

Minimum 5+ years of experience in the Commercial/Industrial HVAC, controls installation, or construction environment.
Experience with large mechanical projects, HVAC equipment, preferably with large central plants (chillers, boilers, etc.), and controls.
Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines and systems.
Ability to pass and maintain background checks for access into primary schools, universities, etc.
OSHA 10/30 certification.
CPR & First Aid Certification.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.
