About the Role
This position is a member of the Assembly/Paint Department, reporting directly to the Mechanical Assembly Supervisor. The Industrial Painter is primarily responsible for painting and touch-up of machinery and equipment manufactured by Bartell, meeting customer specifications while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and paint machinery to meet Bartell standards and customer specifications.
- Interpret MDS and MSDA sheets to paint machinery that meets or exceeds customer specifications.
- Provide support in other areas of the company, such as Warehouse and assembly, when needed.
- Assist various Bartell departments in achieving deadlines by providing manpower during times of backlog.
- Maintain paint booth supplies and record keeping.
- Ensure proper levels of paint and paint supplies are on hand and maintain accurate records required by the EHS Manager.
- Ensure all OSHA guidelines are followed regarding heavy lifting, rigging, and proper use, storage, and disposal of all paints, oils, and fluids.
- Maintain work area in a safe and orderly manner.
- Exhibit a good attitude, start work on time, work overtime when necessary, perform good housekeeping, communicate effectively, be aware of personal and others' safety, and be a good team member.
Requirements
- Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment, and risk control.
- Active participation in activities associated with workplace health and safety.
- Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries, and property damage at the workplace.
- Correct utilization of appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Completion of all standard pre-hire testing and physicals; random testing may be required.
- Fluency in English.
- Possession of Heavy Lift Certification and Industrial Powered Vehicles License.
- Ability to read and interpret MDS, MSDA sheets, and RAL numbers.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to pass Pulmonary and fit tests annually.
- Ability to maintain paint booth and painting equipment.
Skills
- Working knowledge of all Bartell manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Strong communication and conceptual skills.
- Knowledge of spray-painting systems.
- Painting of industrial equipment.
