About the Role
Manage the day-to-day operations at Westwood Country Club’s main restaurant, bar, and seasonal pool restaurant. Maintain a cooperative, team-oriented attitude while working with supervisors, employees, cross-departmental team members, and leadership. Serve as a liaison between departments and oversee all aspects of service and bar staff. Ensure high standards of food and beverage quality and first-class service, representing the professional and positive image of Westwood Country Club.
Responsibilities

- Maintain high standards of food & beverage quality, service, and cleanliness
- Work a flexible schedule based on business demands, events, and staffing needs
- Participate in hiring, training, and ongoing development of all F&B staff
- Run semi-monthly payroll, including daily time edits, time-off approvals, and maintain accurate payroll records
- Conduct evaluations of department staff, document disciplinary actions, and oversee personnel records
- Implement orientation, training, and professional development programs for staff
- Ensure staff conduct, attitude, and performance meet club standards, report issues objectively and promptly
- Supervise staff to ensure high productivity and adherence to policies
- Conduct and promote regular staff meetings and daily lineups
- Attend weekly department/property meetings and training as required
- Adhere to all club policies, rules, procedures, and SOPs
- Maintain knowledge of state and federal laws regarding employee and customer health and safety
- Keep required records for all state and federal agencies
- Ensure compliance with TABC regulations for alcohol sales and inventory
- Maintain appearance, cleanliness, and safety of dining areas and equipment; report maintenance issues
- Ensure a safe work environment and correct unsafe conditions immediately; coach staff in safety practices
- Participate in the annual budget process, monitor spending, and take corrective action to meet financial goals
- Manage purchasing and inventory of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; monitor and maintain set COGs
- Oversee ordering and receiving of products for quality, quantity, and pricing
- Maintain professional relationships with vendors
- Recommend operational improvements and personnel management strategies to the Director of Service
- Develop and communicate departmental strategies and goals
- Collaborate with the F&B team to create new menu content and programming
- Work with Communications Coordinator to market programs via weekly eblasts and newsletters
- Support other F&B operations (banquets, tournaments, member events, etc.)
- Handle complaints from members, guests, and employees; report and advise on corrective action
- Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of first-class service, food and beverage quality
- Present a professional image of leadership
- Possess strong administrative and organizational skills
- Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on member service
- Direct and motivate Food & Beverage staff across varied positions
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, including safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to problem-solve, be flexible, establish and maintain effective working relationships, work quickly and accurately independently and as part of a team, exercise good judgment, and perform detailed tasks.
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
