About the Role
Responsible for assembly and packing of sheet metal components, fitting and adjustment of parts based on written specifications.
Responsibilities
- Follows all safety processes and procedures.
- Assembles components into finished product following specific written instructions and/or blueprints.
- Disassembles and rebuilds products per specifications.
- Conducts quality checks following quality process instructions.
- Packs and labels product following packaging instructions.
- Ensures that the work area is clean, orderly, and safe.
- Works in packaging as needed, including packing large assemblies or parts.
- Inspects parts for defects or damage prior to packing.
- Makes boxes, applies labels, verifies counts, and follows packing instructions.
- Follows directions on packing from Packaging Lead.
- Assists with other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Requirements
- Ability to use hand tools such as screw drivers, sockets, Allen wrench, air drivers, tape dispenser and material handling equipment.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, quality and packing instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Regularly required to sit; walk, stand for extensive periods of time, maneuver through the office and factory; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; grasp and twist; talk or hear; and lift and/or or move equipment/product weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Utilize lift assist or work with another associate to lift anything greater than 50 lbs.
- Must pass physical abilities test because of weight of assemblies being worked on.

Experience Level
