About the Role
This position is responsible for examining patients with mental disorders and providing therapeutic care. The role involves diagnosing mental disorders, recommending medicines, and providing patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide Med reviews and evaluations.
- Provides comprehensive mental health care services with responsibility for examination, diagnosis, and treatment of patients within scope of licensing and qualifications.
- Develops health care plans according to established standards of care.
- Maintains clinical records on all patients seen in a manner consistent with confidentiality of health care records guidelines and department regulations protocol.
- Conducts face-to-face assessments with clients and collaterals as needed.
- Provides instruction, guidance or in-service training to mental health, medical, and therapist staff as appropriate.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of one year experience working with youth and adults diagnosed with mental illness.
- Must be fully licensed Nurse Practitioner in the State of New York.
- CPR Certification.
- Must be able to work independently.
- National Provider Identification (NPI) - issued by the federal Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
- Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) number – issued by the United States Department of Justice DEA.
- NYS Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (NYS DOH BNE) registration – issued by the NYS DOH BNE.
- NYS Medicaid Enrollment - in cases in which a Prescriber is prescribing to a NYS Medicaid enrolled client.
